Join us for a talk by East Quay studio tenant and multi-disciplinary artist Zoe Snape, who will present her Somerset Art Weeks Micro-Commission to create new work during her Artist Residency at science laboratory Singer Instruments in Minehead.

Zoe will describe her exploration of Bio Art; growing in yeast J.M.W. Turner’s sketches of Minehead, using Singer’s Colony Cam to photograph E. coli spin-art, growing images from bacteria found on North Hill, and mycelium-inspired digital compositions.

Zoe Snape has a BA (Hons) in Fine Art & Art History from Goldsmiths, and has exhibited throughout the UK. For fifteen years she worked in international galleries and auction houses as a specialist in fine art photography. Zoe has an interest in the mental health implications of the Climate Emergency, using bubbles as her subject to explore the theme of transience.
