EASTER HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS
03.04.2026 – 19.04.2026
An art activity will be available in the foyer every day during the Easter Holiday, from 10am to 4pm. Activity sheets for gallery exploration are also available throughout the exhibition.
WEEK 1
For week one of the Easter Holidays, we’ll be working together to create three big Nature Banners for our Understory projects later in the year.
Tuesday 7th April
Nature Banners: Printing and Mark Making
11-1pm, all ages, drop-in family workshop, Free*
In this first banner making session we’ll be getting properly messy as we explore printing and mark making, creating colourful patterned fabrics that will form the base of our banners.
Wednesday 8th April
Nature Banners: Plants and Flowers
11-1pm, all ages, drop-in family workshop, Free*
In this workshop, we’ll be cutting, sticking, and designing bright, cheerful flowers and plants inspired by different habitats. Together we’ll build up layers of colour and shape to help our Nature Banners bloom.
Thursday 9th April
Nature Banners: Insects and Animals
11-1pm, all ages, drop-in family workshop, Free*
For the final banner workshop, we’ll explore the different habitats and the creatures that live within them. Participants will create drawings and decorative pieces of insects and animals—everything from tiny bugs to larger woodland creatures—to complete the designs of our three Nature Banners.
WEEK 2
inspired by our local landscapes, wildlife and the colours and textures of nature.
Tuesday 14th April
Flapping Insects
11-1pm, all ages, drop-in family workshop, Free*
Using a simple clothes peg, design and assemble your very own little flapping insect to take home.
Wednesday 15th April
Ribbon Printing
11-1pm, all ages, drop-in family workshop, Free*
We’ll be making decorated ribbons for our May Pole at the upcoming May Day event. Using foam and a toilet roll, you’ll design a fun rollable stamp and use it to create bright, patterned ribbons to help make the May Pole look amazing.
Thursday 16th April
Spring Scene Collage
11-1pm, all ages, drop-in family workshop, Free*
Create a miniature spring scene inside a jam jar lid. Build tiny landscapes full of colour and detail, with animals, flowers and anything else that makes spring feel magical.
