FOLK JUICE: Gardening Under The Moon
Folk Juice: Gardening Under The Moon
A monthly gathering to share folk knowledge
Date: Tuesday, 6th January 2026
Time: 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Location: East Quay Kitchen*
Cost: Free!
In the new year, our very own Isabelle Fraser will be leading a gathering on Gardening Under The Moon.
She’ll be telling us what is good to plant under what moon phases, some of the history of lunar gardening, and will talk us through a few of the vast complexities of a subject full of mystery, astrology, intuition and how humans have connected tending plants with the moon cycles for generations.
We will also be doing some of our own planting together in the session, so bring a pot if you can, especially if you would like to take what you plant home. We will have soil and bulbs for you ready, and we will plant to help bring in a new year, with all the possibility and promise that planting seeds bring.
Come, welcome in 2026 with us and start as we mean to go on with gentleness, slowness and togetherness under the January Wolf Moon, the first full moon of the year (full moon 3rd Jan).
Folk Juice is a monthly gathering to remember our collective folk culture. As a group we have co-created 12 sessions of folkie wonder to share the knowledge we hold together. You are very welcome to join us, get involved, and help keep our folk knowledge juicy and loved.
