Music Club Lab Session - June: Performing Skills

COST: Free of charge, booking essential in advance

East Quay’s monthly Music Club offers a relaxed space to explore sound and movement, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced musician. The club runs two types of sessions each month:

Lab Sessions – Held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, these guided workshops focus on a specific theme or concept, exploring sound, percussion, voice, and creative techniques.
Open Sessions – Held on the 4th Wednesday of each month, these informal, free-flowing jams welcome everyone to experiment, improvise, and enjoy making music together.

Led by multi-instrumentalist and composer Sebastian Tesouro, Music Club is open to anyone aged 18 and over. No prior experience is required — just bring your curiosity, ideas, and a love of music. Occasionally, sessions feature guest musicians for special explorations.

Upcoming Dates:

Wednesday 20th May - Lab Session - Improvisation Skills. This session will help you free yourself up musically, build confidence, and learn how to create in the moment. We’ll explore simple improvisation techniques and group exercises - no pressure, just experimentation and fun in a relaxed environment. This month, we will be joined by special guest, double bassist and composer, Alfie Weedon.

Wednesday 27th May - Open Session. This month, we will be joined by special guest, double bassist and composer, Alfie Weedon.

Wednesday 10th June - Lab Session - Performing Skills. During this session, we'll look at what it’s like to be on stage, including using a microphone, connecting with an audience, and managing those performance nerves. It’s a great chance to practise performing in a supportive space and gain confidence step by step.

Wednesday 24th June - Open Session.
