Each week, discover a new material, help build a large group sculpture, and create your own artwork to take home. Free drop-in workshops run Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 11am–1pm
TUESDAY 12TH AUGUST
BEAVER CRAFT
11-1pm, all ages, family workshop, Free*
The National Trust will be joining us for a special workshop featuring a virtual reality experience all about beavers and their habitats. Experts will be on hand to answer your questions and share fascinating insights. You’ll also create your own beaver character using a simple clothes peg. Plus, we’ll continue building our collaborative wooden sculpture by painting recycled wood to form a bold, abstract installation.
WEDNESDAY 13TH AUGUST
GIANT CHARCOAL DRAWING
11-1pm, all ages, family workshop, Free*
In this workshop, we’ll be drawing big! Using extended charcoal, you’ll have the chance to experiment with bold mark-making and explore the freedom of working on a large scale. We’ll continue building our collaborative wooden sculpture by painting recycled wood to form a bold, abstract installation.
THURSDAY 14TH AUGUST
BALSA WOOD PRINT
11-1pm, all ages, family workshop, Free*
Grab a pencil and get creative with balsa wood to design your very own unique wood print. We’ll continue building our collaborative wooden sculpture by painting recycled wood to form a bold, abstract installation.
An art activity will be available daily in the foyer from 10am to 5pm throughout the holidays, with a new activity each week. Gallery exploration activity sheets are also available for the duration of the exhibition
*All of our drop-in workshops are free, but donations are welcome!
