SUMMER HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS: Week 4
WEEK 4: 18th AUGUST >> MAKE ART WITH...Paper
Each week, discover a new material, help build a large group sculpture, and create your own artwork to take home. Free drop-in workshops run Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 11am–1pm
TUESDAY 19TH AUGUST
GIANT MARK MAKING (plus paper making 10-4pm on the Watchet Esplanade)
11-1pm, all ages, family workshop, Free*
Get creative and experiment with a mix of materials to make bold, abstract patterns—just be prepared to get a little messy, so wear old clothes! Your creations will become part of our large group sculpture for the week. We’ll also be out on the Esplanade in Watchet from 10am–4pm, where you can have a go at making your own paper using pulp from Two Rivers Paper Mill. It’s Summertime in Watchet this week, and there’ll be free kids' workshops running all day Tuesday on the Esplanade—come and join the fun!
WEDNESDAY 20TH AUGUST
STRAW MOBILES
11-1pm, all ages, family workshop, Free*
Create a playful piece of kinetic art using paper straws and colourful collage papers-designed to dance in the wind! We'll also keep building our large group sculpture by threading abstract paper shapes into a vibrant, cascading display.
THURSDY 21ST AUGUST
COFFEE FILTER TIE DYE
11-1pm, all ages, family workshop, Free*
Come and try a fun twist on tie-dye using coffee filters—get ready to experiment with colours and create something bright and colourful. We'll also keep building our large group sculpture by threading abstract paper shapes into a vibrant, cascading display.
STREET ART WORKSHOP
2pm-4pm, age 8+, £8, Book Here
Join artist Charlie Mcfarley for a 2 hour workshop and create your own a street art inspired canvas using posca markers and spray paint!
An art activity will be available daily in the foyer from 10am to 5pm throughout the holidays, with a new activity each week. Gallery exploration activity sheets are also available for the duration of the exhibition
*All of our drop-in workshops are free, but donations are welcome!
