SUSTAINABLE TEXTILE CLUB

Come and enjoy a relaxed social atmosphere of mending whilst learning different textile techniques, chatting and having a drink.

Each session there is a different focus and materials available to use. There will be a supportive East Quay member of staff to help and advise and give ideas. You are welcome to bring your own textile projects to continue with.

When: Second Tuesday of every month

Time: 6.30-7.30pm

Where: Creator Space

Who: No sewing experience necessary

Cost: Free*

*This is a free event but donations to Contains Art are welcomed to cover the cost for materials.

Mixed Media Weaving

(Bring if you would like wool/yarns, scraps of fabric, t-shirt yarn, beads)

Session 9 - 9.09.2025

Felt Patches and embroidery

(Bring if you would like scraps of felt and embroidery threads)

Session 10 - 14.10.2025

Punch Needle

(Bring if you would like bits of yarn and wool)

Session 11 - 11.11.2025

Darning knitted garments

(Bring if you would like a tapestry needle (blunt needle with big eye), yarns, crochet hooks)

Session 12 - 9.12.2025

Festival Garlands

(Bring if you would like scraps of fabrics, embroidery

threads)
