Two Moors: Rachel Campbell-Johnston: A Life in Art
DATE: Sunday 11th October
TIME: 11am
LOCATION: East Quay£10 per ticket per person
Former chief art and poetry critic for The Times, Rachel Campbell-Johnston's books include Mysterious Wisdom: The Life and Work of Samuel Palmer and the children's book, The Child's Elephant. She has a PhD in modern and contemporary British poetry and in this special event at Gallery 1 at East Quay, she will discuss the purpose or point of art, and her career, in conversation with Festival Director, Tamsin Waley-Cohen and local artist Laura Pitman. Painting for over thirty years, Pitman's work is vibrant and expressive, often leaning into colour-rich, semi-abstract interpretations that invite viewers to feel as much as see.
