"What is your Ikigai?" - A Creative and Business Development Talk with Caroline Jackman
DATE: Tuesday 29th July
TIME: 7 - 8.30pm
LOCATION: Creator Space at East Quay
COST: £5, including a glass of wine or soft drink
Join us at East Quay for a creative visioning talk with Caroline Jackman, a creative business consultant and trainer. Caroline has worked in galleries and the creative industry for over 20 years, collaborating with national charities, government agencies, galleries, and practitioners internationally. She is the business consultant for artists and makers at the annual Collect Art Fair at Somerset House, London as well as the World Crafts Council.
At this event, Caroline will guide attendees through the journey of creative and business development, helping artists and creatives identify their purpose and specificity. She will help develop strong communication and presentation skills—essential tools that enable artists to stand out, succeed in applications and gallery submissions, as well as generate sales.
This talk is designed for artists, designers, and makers at any stage of their practice. For those who are more established, the talk will reassess purpose and vision, which can help build resilience and solidify future goals. For those at the beginning of their creative journey, this workshop will help establish a solid foundation for a strong creative practice that can evolve over time.
For those coming to the event, please think about these questions before attending the talk:
- What one thing made you smile in the last 2 days?
- What is coming up for you in your creative practice that you are looking forward to?
- What one thing is making you feel stuck or acting as a barrier for your creative practice?
If you would like your answers to inform the content of this talk, please share your thoughts by emailing caroline@creativebusinessgrowth.co.uk by Thursday, 24 July.
