Amahra Spence

Amahra Spence is the founding director of MAIA a Black-led organisation which engages culture as an imagination and organising strategy for liberation. MAIA is in the process of incubating a new organisation, Hood Commons, designed to steward land out of the private speculation market, into reparative, dignifying community stewardship. Through this platform, they are working to build infrastructures that grow the personal, structural and sustained capacities in support of thriving Black life, community wealth and its interdependencies.
