Membership Options

The Print Studio offers a supportive, well-equipped environment for printmakers working in intaglio, relief and silkscreen. Membership provides access to professional facilities, opportunities to exhibit and sell work, and be part of a growing community of makers at East Quay.

We operate with different tiers of membership to support printmakers at different stages of experience and with different levels of studio need. From April, access to the Print Studio will be via one of the membership options outlined below. Existing memberships will be extended to the end of March at no additional cost.

All memberships are paid by rolling monthly subscription rather than an annual fee. Details and forms will be provided prior to April.

If you only wish to attend courses or workshops run by the Print Studio, you do not need to be a member, although members receive a 10% discount on all courses.

Keyholder Membership

Independent access for experienced printmakers

Keyholder Membership is designed for confident, experienced printmakers who require regular, independent access to the studio and equipment.

Cost:
£50 per month (rolling monthly Direct Debit)
Minimum commitment: 6 months

Access & Use:

Independent, bookable access outside of reserved studio times
Access is typically available around four days per week
No technical support during sessions

Benefits:

Option to take part in the Open Weekends programme, with work displayed for sale (20% commission) in exchange for manning the studio
Option to sell work through the Print Studio area of the East Quay online shop (once launched), subject to 20% commission plus VAT
Priority access to exhibition and project opportunities, including the Mini Print exhibition
10% discount on Print Studio courses
10% discount in the East Quay café and shop
Staff lunch offers (typically £3 soup, cheese on toast or pasta)
Option to participate in the Own Art scheme

Requirements:

Completion of studio induction (£40)
Demonstrated competence to work independently in at least one printmaking area

Standard Membership

Flexible access with technical support available

Standard Membership is suited to less experienced printmakers who may require some technical support, or experienced printmakers who need more occasional access.

Cost:
£5 per month (rolling monthly Direct Debit)
Minimum commitment: 6 months

Access & Use:

Access to pay-as-you-go Open Access sessions
Open Access sessions run a minimum of two days per week (usually Tuesdays and Fridays)
Session fees:
- £25 per full day
- £15 per half day
A technician is present during Open Access sessions to offer general technical support
(This does not include personalised tutoring; printmakers must be able to work independently.)

Additional Options:

Pay-as-you-go 1-to-1 tutoring with the Studio Technician (£20 per hour)

Benefits:

Priority access to exhibition and project opportunities, including the Mini Print exhibition
10% discount on Print Studio courses
10% discount in the East Quay café and shop
