East Quay Art

Pod 1 features bespoke vintage and pre-loved fittings mixed with ‘found’ objects in an eclectic mix, reflecting the unique flavour of Watchet.

Visitors are invited to swap an item from the 'living museum' selection with an item of your finding during your stay.

The Living Museum or 'Object-Exchange' pod is situated on the first floor of East Quay. Downstairs is a well-equipped rustic kitchen complete with an integrated fridge, microwave, Belfast sink, and induction hobs. If you don’t feel like cooking then you can head downstairs to East Quay Kitchen for a delicious breakfast, lunch, dinner or cake. The beautifully finished bathroom is complete with toilet, sink, and shower.

A ship-style staircase leads to a mezzanine level with a quirky seating area overlooking a huge wraparound window. Tucked into the corner is a standard double bed, with luxury organic bedlinen and an organic wool duvet, on top of a luxury natural mattress.

This pod has its own private balcony area for enjoying the sunsets as well as stunning views over the town, harbour and sea. It is perfect for a romantic break.

You access the pod from the first floor concrete walkway, which can be reached by both internal and external stairs or the lift. But the steep stairs within the pod are not suitable for those with mobility issues.

Lovely place with simply amazing view down the north Somerset/Devon coast. really great and surprisingly comfy bath sofa on top level for hanging out and watching the view/sunset arrival of night. Really great experience.

Delightfully splendid pod, just right for 2 people (couple) for three nights exploring this beautiful area.

We had the best time staying in Pod 1. It has all the essentials for a short visit but also a lot of architectural character and personality! The views of the marina from the bedroom were fantastic. Comfy bed and a good shower too! You can also get a tasty breakfast in the cafe downstairs. Watchet is an amazing place and we would not have found it, if we didn’t see the East Quay development on AirBnB.

This place/pod in itself is more than just a “somewhere to stay.” The tranquility of being by the sea, the bold and proud quirkiness of the quayside architecture, the view from within the property and its balconies (especially in the hour prior to and after sunset), the living museum curated of previous guest’s endeavours, the warmth and welcoming feeling that you get from everyone that you meet who are connected to the quayside and it’s many enterprises, capped off with almost daily rhythm of a steam locomotive chugging its way back and forth along the coast are just some of the reasons why you have to book a stay here. It’s rare to stay somewhere so that offers so much on so many different levels. A real gem of a place and it might just be the first AirBnB that I will return to and will be the first that I recommend to friends.

Absolutely loved our stay in pod 1 it was so cute and unique and a bonus to have a balcony. The views of the harbour at sunset were just beautiful. It was the perfect night away for complete peace and quiet and lazy walks. Parked the car and didn’t need to leave the area as everything was nearby. We cooked dinner in our pod which had everything we needed and for breakfast we went downstairs to the restaurant which was just incredible.
