East Quay Art

Pod 2 is perfect for families, weekends away with friends and those with accessibility needs.

Our largest pod, each wall is etched with drawings that describe the stories of Watchet’s past present and future, from the steam railway to the legend of the Gurt Wurm, West Somerset's notorious local dragon.

The pod features a central spiral staircase, a bespoke lighting fitting, and a stunning etched narrative of Watchet’s history across the walls of the double height space.

This pod can sleep 4 adults and 2 kids (we can add extra camp beds).

Pod 2 has an accessible arrangement on the lower floor to allow for visitors with mobility impairment and a fully accessible bathroom, kitchen and eating area.

Downstairs is a kitchen complete with an integrated fridge, microwave, sink, and induction hobs. If you don’t feel like cooking then you can head downstairs to East Quay Kitchen for delicious meals. A dining table overlooks the courtyard and town. Tucked away in a cosy alcove is a comfortable double bed, with luxury organic bed linen and an organic wool duvet, and a luxury natural mattress. The playfully designed bathroom/wet room has a toilet, sink, and open shower, accented by brightly coloured handrails.

A spiral staircase leads to a mezzanine level with another seating area, as well as another double bed, with luxury organic bed linen and an organic wool duvet, on top of a luxury natural mattress. A full-length window covers one wall and overlooks the boatyard and sea.

Camp beds are available for child guests and can be placed on either level.

"We had a lot of fun in Watchet. Great spot for an overnight stay, kids and I loved the modern interiors with pops of colours. The beds were clean and comfy, the shower nice and hot. We had a wonderful breakfast downstairs on the cafe to set us up for exploring the art gallery, station and coast. Brilliant wholesome stuff, thanks Naomi."

"Top location, beautifully designed accommodation, interesting seaside town.Even in mid January there was an exhibition opening, lively pubs and an authentic sense of community.Watchet is a confident place, and east quay shows it by offering contemporary art and design, living history (don’t miss the paper making) and a welcoming and outgoing community. We walked, ate out, lounged about."

"We booked the Stories and Imagination pod for a last minute family break and it turned out to be the highlight of our summer holidays. We loved everything - hunting for onions and birds in the quirky decor on the walls and ceilings, the food in the cafe (special mention from my 7 year old son for the Nutella pancakes!), the amazing views, especially as the sun set, and the friendliness of all the staff, artists and the wider community of Watchet which is just such a lovely town. The summer market on Wednesday was a great bonus too. We can’t wait to return!"
