Our Playful Architecture pod is an interactive space, inviting playfulness with its adaptive building fabric and furniture. A large cargo net is installed over the living area below to play, relax, or snooze on. The ply walls are covered with a semaphore code, which guests are invited to crack and it has a rainbow bathroom.
The Playful Architecture pod is situated on the second floor of East Quay.
Inside the pod is a kitchen complete with an integrated fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, sink, and induction hobs. If you don’t feel like cooking then just head downstairs toEast Quay Kitchen for a delicious meal. A dining table overlooks a shared terrace space with views of the Harbour and sea.
The bathroom has a toilet, sink, and open shower.
A steep ship-style staircase leads to a mezzanine level which hosts a double bed, with luxury organic bed linen and an organic wool duvet, on top of a luxury natural mattress. The more adventurous can even opt to sleep on the cargo net!
Please note that this pod may not be suitable for some guests due to the very steep stairs.
It is possible for us to add extra camp beds to this pod for small children, but if you are a family coming to stay, you might want to check out pod 2.

We loved staying here- it had everything we needed and the whole apartment was so fun. My son LOVED the net- as did I! And there is plenty to explore within walking distance.

Really nice way to spend a weekend, lots to do in Watchet - we loved crabbing and visiting the fossil beach. The pod was fun and very quirky, and felt surprisingly private once we closed the blinds. East Quay itself is an experience, good at the kitchen was delicious, not cheap but you do get a guest discount, and the exhibitions were fascinating.

Really lovely stay! Loved the pod.. really lovely design and a brilliant addition to the area. We watched the euros final in the snug / net room with the tv which was brill and so cosy. Lovely views and we were so lucky with a beautiful sunset in the evening. Really helpful hosts, giving lots of local recommendations and just generally helpful with check in etc. Thanks so much for a lovely getaway. Would definitely revisit!

Rooms will usually be ready by 15.00pm on the day of arrival and we ask that on your day of departure you check out by 11:00am. Until 5pm you can check in at the reception desk, and on Thursday, Friday and Saturday the kitchen is open and you can check in there. After 5pm on Sunday-Wednesday and after 8pm on Thursday-Saturday we can still arrange check in , please just let us know when you excpect to arrive and we'll arrange that for you.
We understand that sometimes people will need to cancel their booking, but we also need to balance the impact on our social enterprise. If you wish to cancel your reservation we therefore ask you notify us 48 hours prior to arrival. After this time we reserve the right to take full payment. In the event of a non-arrival and no notification we reserve the right to recover the full cost of the booking.
If you book direct with us via our website, we will collect your payment details when you make the booking but we will take payment when you check-in. If you book with another accommodation engine, payment will be made according to their terms and conditions.
