Studio 8 - Georgina Towler
Georgina Towler is a contemporary landscape artist and studied Fine Art at Buckinghamshire New University. Towler experiments with shape, form, distance, and space, with her practice ranging from traditional paintings to larger installations. She has exhibited widely in group shows across the south of England as well as London and Berlin.
A painterly response to the world, Georgina’s work helps her to make sense of the incomprehensible enormousness of the rural environments that surround her. Stemming from her accumulative consideration of the spaces she sees every day; her works are the result of the intense observation of light on landscape.
Blue then green, light then dark, soft then sharp, dynamic then constant. Unpicking and fragmenting the visual pane, her works deconstruct the way light creates form, colour constructs space and shadow forms edges; juxtaposing the freedom of the painterly mark against hard edge forms.
